After what seems like an eternity, Eminem is finally opening up about his long anticipated album, "Relapse." The album will be released as part of an Aftermath Records blitz that will also include 50 Cent's long rumored "Before I Self Destruct" and Dr. Dre's supposed swan song, "The Detox." All three projects are planned to be relased within weeks of each other. Aftermath is taking these releases very seriously and are anticipating the kind of market share that they took in the early 2000's when "The Eminem Show," "2001" and "Get Rich Or Die Tryin'" dominated tthe charts. All three artists will feature prominitly on each others albums with Dr. Dre producing the bulk of "Relapse."
“Me and [Dr.] Dre are back in the lab like the old days, man," says Eminem. "Just him banging away on tracks and me getting that little spark that makes me write to it. I don’t have chemistry like that with anyone else as far as producers go, not even close.”
As far as those "Stan Pt. 2" rumors that were legitimized by producer Swizz Beats last year, Em says it's totally false.
“There isn’t a ‘Stan 2,' and there won’t be,” Em said. “Stan drove his car off a bridge and I’m not writing a song as Stan’s ghost. That would just be really corny.” |
